In 2014, with assistance from the Arts Council England and Metal Liverpool, I founded Immix, a new music ensemble who focus on collaborations with innovative musical voices from across Liverpool and the North West. Drawing on the talents of some of the region’s finest instrumentalists, Immix exists as a vehicle to champion the work of forward thinking composers, songwriters, bands and electronic artists, and to cast a spotlight on emerging talent, with an emphasis on artists whose work slips between the cracks of style and genre.
Working with other musicians is something that I find incredibly exciting and stimulating, and I firmly believe that collaboration is a critical part of the creative process. Some of the musicians who I have been fortunate to work alongside are the electronic artist, Vessel; singer and songwriter, Tom Cowcher; producer Joe Wills, and; psych-pop outfit Sunstack Jones.
I enjoy making music in a diverse range of settings; composed and improvised, acoustic and electronic, and the various shades in between. I am presently writing and recording new music involving woodwinds, synthesisers, and anything else I can get my hands on.
